Where Lisa Yang comes from
Lisa Yang is a Stockholm fashion house dedicated to cashmere, founded in 2014 by Lisa Yang and Samuel Stenberg. The label is led by the East meets West heritage of its founders, drawing on the ancient cashmere tradition of Inner Mongolia and the understated ease of Scandinavian design. Its about page describes cashmere as “a science, a creative expression and an ongoing legacy”, and says the collections span a wide range of knitting techniques, from fine downy fibres combed by hand to the finished garment. The range covers sweaters, cardigans, T-shirts, trousers, coats, accessories and menswear, and it sells online and through retailers.
What Lisa Yang stands for
Lisa Yang says it works exclusively with the finest natural fibres, led by its signature Grade A 100% cashmere knit and complemented by compositions with silk and cotton, plus woven silk and wool-cashmere doublé. It says it has worked with some of the world’s most prominent cashmere producers since the beginning. Every garment comes with a small piece of matching yarn on its hang tag for minor repairs, and the brand publishes a cashmere care guide. It has a sustainability page, but the pages we read give no certifications, and they do not state where its pieces are made. We haven’t tested any of the products.
