Where Elemis comes from
Elemis was founded in 1989 by entrepreneur Linda Steiner together with Sean Harrington, Oriele Frank and Noella Gabriel, with a vision of skincare as close to nature as possible. It calls itself a British spa and skincare brand, inspired by the sea and the land and born in the spa, and says everything begins at its UK Innovation Hub. Noella Gabriel, who started as a spa therapist, was named CEO in 2025. The range centres on the Pro-Collagen line of cleansing balms, creams, serums and oils, alongside the Superfood and Dynamic Resurfacing lines, body care and spa treatments.
What Elemis stands for
Elemis says its products are almost always made and manufactured in Britain, using British farmers where possible, and that it works with natural ingredients and bio-engineered ones where they improve results. Its promise page says it bans more than 2,000 potentially harmful ingredients, including parabens, mineral oils, SLS and artificial dyes, and that every product goes through third-party consumer and clinical testing. It is a certified B Corp and has set goals such as net zero by 2050, with 95% of its rinse-off formulas made of easily biodegradable ingredients by 2030. Its claims of results are the brand’s own. We haven’t tested any of the products.

Ordering from the US
Elemis runs a US store, owned and operated by ELEMIS, USA, Inc. in New York, with prices in dollars. Ground shipping is free, 2-day delivery costs $15 and next-day costs $25 for orders placed by 12pm EST. It also delivers to Canada and Puerto Rico, and international customers pay their own import charges. You can return unused items in their original packaging for a refund within 30 days, started by phone, email or live chat, and you need to provide tracking details. Refunds go back to the original card within 10 to 14 working days of processing. Elemis doesn’t refund the postage you pay to return items, or any taxes and duties, unless the item was wrong, faulty or damaged.
