Where Sézane comes from
Sézane was born in Paris in 2013, growing out of Les Composantes, which began about twenty years ago as a selection of vintage pieces. Founder Morgane Sézalory built the brand around an approach to detail, service and connection, imagining a Parisian wardrobe for real life, first online and later through its Appartements, the first of which opened on rue Saint-Fiacre in Paris in 2016. Today la famille Sézane also includes Octobre Éditions for men, Petit Sézane for children up to age 12, and Les Composantes for home and lifestyle. The womenswear range covers knitwear, coats and jackets, dresses, shirts, denim, shoes, bags and jewelry, and the US store links to Appartements in several US states.
What Sézane stands for
Sézane says it is B Corp certified and has held Société à mission status since 2021, which commits it to social and environmental goals with progress independently reviewed. Its commitments page puts 81% of its 2025 materials in the reduced-impact category, with 97% of its cotton certified organic or recycled, more than 95% of its wool certified recycled or RWS-certified, and all leather tanned at LWG-certified sites. It also says around 14% of its materials are synthetic, a share it deliberately limits, and that its manufacturing sites are audited by independent experts. Its DEMAIN fund, set up by Morgane Sézalory in 2018, supports women’s and children’s rights, and it donates part of its sales to it each month. Product pages list a made-in country, and the ones we checked named Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria and China. We haven’t tested any of the products.
What you’ll pay
Sézane is premium. These are regular prices on its US store on November 2, 2026 (the main collection pages showed no markdowns, while its Archives pieces are sold at reduced prices as final sale):
- Jeans: $145 to $170 (typically about $155)
- Knitwear: $120 to $330 (about $170)
- Jackets and coats: $150 to $980 (about $360)
- Shoes: $210 to $430 (about $270)
- Bags: $100 to $680 (about $315)
Here’s what our featured pieces are. The grid shows bags because they are the only products Sézane photographs on a plain white background:
| Product | Price | Main material | Made in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solal Bag | $370 | 100% split cowhide leather | Portugal |
| Silo Bag | $240 | 100% smooth cowhide leather | Italy |
| Aurèle Bag | $315 | 100% split cowhide leather | Portugal |
| Gary Maxi Bag | $430 | 100% smooth cowhide leather | Portugal |
| Lou Bag | $240 | 100% split cowhide leather | Portugal |
| Maxi Solal Bag | $430 | 100% split cowhide leather | Portugal |
The Silo Bag’s product sheet says Italy, but its description says it was made in Sézane’s Portuguese workshop, so the two disagree.
Ordering from the US
Sézane has a US store with prices in dollars. Standard home delivery costs $8 and takes 4 to 6 working days, and is free from $200. Express costs $15, takes 2 to 4 working days, and is free from $750. Delivery to a store is free and takes 5 to 6 working days. It can’t deliver to P.O. boxes, and orders over $1,000 need a signature at delivery. It says no additional duties or fees will be collected on delivery. In the Archives or festive season, delivery can take up to 15 working days. You have 30 days after receiving an order to return items, which must be unworn with all labels and accessories attached, and customized items can’t be returned. The first return of each order is free, but only one return per order is accepted, and any others are at your expense. Refunds are processed within 5 working days of Sézane receiving the parcel, then take about 5 more days to reach a card. Archives pieces are final sale with no returns or exchanges.
