Where Baum und Pferdgarten comes from

Baum und Pferdgarten is a Copenhagen fashion house founded in 1999 by Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave. Their contrasting personal styles and shared love of sharp tailoring and experimental design are described as the DNA of the brand, which calls itself one of Denmark’s most respected fashion houses. It combines roots in Scandinavian minimalism with bold colours, striking prints and a flair for contrasts, for what it calls real, expressive women. The collections cover dresses, skirts, shirts and blouses, jeans, knitwear, jackets and coats, plus bags and accessories, sold online and through a Copenhagen flagship store.

What Baum und Pferdgarten stands for

The brand talks mostly about design: individuality, unexpected details, curated textures and vibrant palettes, with an emphasis on high-quality fabrics and pieces meant to be worn and loved for years. On sustainability, its pages are modest. A care and repair guide encourages washing less, repairing before replacing and passing clothes on, and it says you can bring items to the Copenhagen flagship store to be mended or recycled. Some styles are made in organic cotton, and the Napolen jeans carry a GOTS certificate for 98% organic cotton. Product pages list materials and a supplier name, but not a made-in country. We haven’t tested any of the products.

Ordering from the US

Baum und Pferdgarten ships worldwide and shows prices in US dollars for US customers. Shipping to the US costs $30, free on orders above $250, with transit of about 3 to 7 working days via a registered postal service, GLS, DHL or UPS. Orders placed before 12:00 CET are shipped the same working day. Its FAQ says customs duties and VAT are already included in the price for customers in the US. You have 30 days from delivery to return items (14 days for sale items) through its returns portal, unworn, unwashed and with the original tags and packaging. For non-EU customers the return shipping cost is yours, using a courier of your choice and a customs form from customer care, and parcels to parcel shops are not accepted. Refunds go back to the original payment method within about 10 business days of the parcel arriving. Exchanges aren’t offered, so you place a new order, and online purchases can’t be returned in its store.
